Barricade
Metal, stone and mud smack together in an unmistakable sound. There's the cold, hard sound of the metal. The sucking sound of the mud as the metal slides though it. And then the scrape of the stone. Every decision, smack. Every though, suck. Every action, scrape. Can you hear it? Every moment hangs in the balance and when we decide to follow our own desires/motivations/intentions, therein lies the problem in every one of us. Rebellion...
With every thought that does not align with our God, our Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ we are building a BARRICADE. We are separating ourselves from the source of Love and we are losing our identity. It all started with Adam and Eve and it continues through all of history including us.
We all have an internal meter. This meter reads right and wrong. We all understand it. We all know it. We all justify it when we break off the needle as it slams on the side of wrong. It's not something we learn. It's built in.
Even reading this, you understand. We are all in it for ourselves and if you don't admit it, you're deceiving yourself. We all have BARRICADES and we all know it.
There is also something we all seem to understand. There is something that should be in place to right the wrong(s). And the correction came with the 1st rebellion. When Adam and Eve decided to go with their own desires and eat the forbidden apple they knew something was wrong. So they ran off and covered themselves. They were trying to right the wrong, covering their rebellion. But God himself gave them the answer. He covered their rebellion by using animal skins. He sacrificed an animal, spilled its blood and covered the rebellion of Adam, Eve and all of humanity. He covered they're BARRICADE. He covered it so that it was not noticable to Him. But that was only temporary. Your BARRICADE can be removed!
